Wheelock Attended Project WeCan Thank You Reception
Wheelock Properties attended Project WeCan Partners Appreciation Reception at Government House, with The Hon Mrs Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, The Chief Executive of HKSAR, as Guest of Honour on 30 May. The event was well attended by representatives from 69 partners, volunteers, principals and students from 76 WeCan schools.
Project WeCan is a Business-in-Community (BIC) initiative which aims to widen secondary school students’ horizons, enhance students’ essentials including creativity, character, common sense and communication skills in order to equip them for future careers. It is an open platform where each secondary school is partnered with a sponsor who would provide financial and volunteer support in a multi-year collaboration. Launched in 2011, Project WeCan has since expanded from a BIC project to a multi-sector-in-community network including local and foreign businesses, universities, Consulates, hospital, as well as alumni, professional and retiree groups. The project also provides scholarships to over 330 WeCan students who are pursuing degree courses in eight UGC-funded universities.
