Wheelock Properties complete assignment of One Bay East with Manulife and Citi

Hong Kong - Wheelock Properties Limited (WPL) today (24 September 2015) completed the assignment of One Bay East with Manulife (International) Limited (“Manulife”) and Citi, marking the purchase closing of the said development by both vendor and purchasers. Two leading global financial corporations invested a total of close to HK$10 billion in Kowloon East. This huge investment will enhance Hong Kong’s position as the international financial and commercial centre, and accelerate the development of Kowloon East into a new CBD in attracting more multinational corporations. One Bay East has obtained the certificate of compliance on schedule. West Tower is officially named Manulife Tower and will serve as Manulife's Asia regional office, as well as some of its Hong Kong operations and agency offices. East Tower is officially named Citi Tower and will become the strategic base for the corporate’s Hong Kong operations. Wheelock Properties is committed to deliver quality product and premier after-sale service. A handover team is specially established to ensure smooth handover to Manulife and Citi. Harriman Property Management Limited, the property management arm of Wheelock Properties, will provide professional management services to the two enbloc purchasers. An international standard Environmental Management System (EMS) and Building Management System (BMS) are installed at One Bay East to facilitate a premier business environment in meeting clients’ specific operation needs. After One Bay East, Wheelock Properties is now redeveloping the ex-Wharf T & T Square at 123 Hoi Bun Road into a 600,000 square foot grade-A waterfront office building. In addition, One HarbourGate, another grade-A office development by Wheelock Properties will obtain occupation permit soon and full completion is scheduled for next year. Located at 18 Hung Luen Road, One HarbourGate enjoys full panoramic view of Victoria Harbour. Fronting a scenic promenade connecting to Tsimshatsui and in close proximity to the future Shatin to Central MTR Link (one stop or 5-minute ride to Admiralty), One HarbourGate comprises two high blocks of office tower and 2 low blocks of retail tower. Several parties of keen prospect have shown interest in enbloc acquisition while details have yet to be confirmed.
