Wheelock Properties and Hong Chi Association Coorganised Christmas Mask Design Competition for People with Intellectual Disabilities to Show their Artistic Creativity and Talent

The annual design competition co-organised by Wheelock Properties and Hong Chi Association was successfully held between October and November.  Unlike the Christmas e-card design competitions in the previous 12 years, this year’s competition, with the theme “Celebrating Christmas with Family”, encouraged students from the association’s 14 schools to unleash their artistic creativity and design eco-friendly face masks that depict precious family moments at Christmas.

The competition attracted enthusiastic participation, with more than 250 submissions from students of Hong Chi Association.  A judging committee composed of representatives from Wheelock Properties and Hong Chi Association carefully selected one winner, one 1st runner-up, one 2nd runner-up, and 10 merits from Group 1 (11 years old or below) and Group 2 (12 years old or above) respectively.  Each awardee received great prizes and an eco-friendly face mask with their own design produced by Wheelock Properties so that they can put the masks on and display their artistic talent while sharing joy during the festive season.

“I am so glad to have coorganised this competition with Hong Chi Association for 13 consecutive years.  To encourage students to maintain physical and mental well-being and to fight the pandemic, the competition has changed from designing Christmas e-cards to eco-friendly face masks.  The theme of this year is “Celebrating Christmas with Family”, and the competition was well-received with a total of 256 entries.  They are all full of creativity.  In the future, we hope to offer more opportunities for students to demonstrate their artistic creativity and talent!”  said Mr Ricky Wong, Managing Director of Wheelock Properties.

The winning entries of the competition will be uploaded to the Facebook page of Hong Chi Association at Christmas (www.facebook.com/HongChiAssociation/) for public viewing.
