“Wheelock Peak Exposure” Photo Competition

Mr. Edward Stokes, Judge of the Competition (fourth left, back row), Mr. Douglas Woo, Chairman of Wheelock and Company (first right, back row), Mr. Stewart Leung, Chairman of Wheelock Properties (sixth left, back row) and Mr. Ricky Wong, Managing Director of Wheelock Properties (third left, back row) presented certificates and prizes to Wheelock Peak Exposure Photo Competition winners.

Wheelock Properties launched the competition as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, joining hands with The Photographic Heritage Foundation on this project to encourage people to explore and discover the flora, fauna and landscape at The Peak, and ultimately to promote environmental conservation.

Successfully held in Hong Kong from 11th December, 2013 to 10th February, 2014, the competition received phenomenal response with over 1,000 quality entries across the Open and Student categories, with the “Natural beauty on The Peak” and “Architectural heritage on The Peak” themes.

The entries to the photo competition were assessed by a panel of adjudicators comprising Wheelock Properties’ senior management, Edward Stokes (founder of The Photographic Heritage Foundation), Samson So (nature photographer and Director of Eco Institute) and Dr. Martin Williams (founder of www.hkoutdoors.com) based on artistic merit, originality and technical expertise, while the “Voters’ Choice Award” is given to the entry garnering the most votes online.

To celebrate and congratulate the winners, Wheelock Properties hosted an award presentation ceremony at Wheelock Gallery in Admiralty on 27th February, 2014. The winning photographs were exhibited at Wheelock Gallery from 27th February, 2014 to 7th March, 2014. Framed prints of the winning entries were sold and all proceeds were donated to Sedan Chair Charities Fund.
